NightWard Terms of Use
Welcome to NightWard, displayed as 晚安守护 in Simplified Chinese and 晚安守護 in Traditional Chinese. NightWard is a local screen time management app built on Apple Screen Time capabilities. By using the app, you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please stop using the app.
1. Service Description
NightWard's core features include creating screen time rules, choosing apps, categories, or websites to restrict, applying system restrictions during scheduled rule times, viewing local reports, setting management modes and an admin PIN, and syncing configuration snapshots through Apple iCloud when you choose to do so.
NightWard is not a chat monitoring, content review, location tracking, medical, safety alarm, or emergency response tool. It does not read the specific content of other apps and cannot guarantee that all distraction, overuse, or bypass behavior will be completely prevented.
2. Eligibility and Family Use
You should use the app in compliance with applicable laws, Apple App Store rules, Apple Screen Time rules, and Family Sharing requirements. If you configure restrictions for a child or another family member, you are responsible for ensuring that you have the appropriate parental or management authority and for explaining the purpose, scope, and possible effects of the restrictions to the managed person.
The app does not provide a developer-operated account system and does not require you to register or sign in to a developer server. Apple ID, iCloud, Screen Time, Family Sharing, StoreKit, and App Store payment mechanisms are provided by Apple and governed by Apple's terms.
3. Permissions, Rules, and User Responsibility
NightWard can apply system restrictions only after you grant Screen Time-related permissions and choose the scope to restrict. You are responsible for confirming that rule schedules, repeat settings, selected scopes, admin PIN settings, iCloud actions, and Pro purchase choices match your intent.
You understand and agree that restriction behavior may be affected by iOS version, system permissions, device time, Low Power Mode, network conditions, iCloud status, Family Sharing settings, Apple system policies, or manual changes to device settings. You should not rely on the app as the only parental supervision, learning management, safety, or emergency handling measure.
4. Free Quota and Pro In-App Purchases
NightWard is free to download and use. Free users may use a limited free rule quota. After that quota is used, creating additional rules, using iCloud configuration, and using admin PIN features require Pro. Pro benefits include unlimited rules, iCloud configuration, admin PIN, and other membership features shown in the app.
Current Pro in-app purchases include weekly, quarterly, and yearly auto-renewable subscriptions, plus a lifetime non-consumable purchase. Whether the weekly subscription includes a free trial, the trial length, actual prices, currencies, taxes, subscription periods, and purchase availability are determined by the App Store / StoreKit information displayed on the purchase page. A subscription Pro user may still purchase lifetime Pro if lifetime Pro is not already owned.
Auto-renewable subscriptions are charged through your Apple ID and may renew automatically before the end of the current period unless cancelled according to Apple's rules. You can view, change, or cancel subscriptions in iOS Settings or App Store Apple ID subscription management. Refunds, cancellations, billing disputes, and payment method issues are usually handled by Apple under App Store rules.
After a purchase or restore succeeds, NightWard verifies current entitlements through StoreKit and unlocks the corresponding features. If a purchase is pending, verification fails, products are unavailable, a subscription expires, a refund is issued, or Apple returns no valid entitlement, Pro features may not unlock or may return to the free state.
5. User Data and Local Content
Rules, names, schedules, management settings, report records, free quota status, Pro entitlement cache, and iCloud configuration you create in NightWard are your usage data. The app stores this information locally by default. If you choose to upload or restore iCloud configuration, related data may be stored and synced through Apple iCloud.
You are responsible for ensuring that rule names or other custom content do not violate the rights of others and do not contain illegal, harmful, fraudulent, harassing, hateful, explicit, malicious, or otherwise inappropriate material. Because we do not operate a server for storing user rules, we usually cannot actively view, moderate, or recover your local or iCloud data.
6. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use NightWard in any way that may harm the app, Apple services, other users, or third parties, including but not limited to:
- Reverse engineering, cracking, or bypassing system permissions, security restrictions, StoreKit purchase verification, or Screen Time restriction mechanisms.
- Using the app for unlawful monitoring, harassment, coercion, privacy invasion, or other improper purposes.
- Impersonating NightWard, the developer, Apple, or any third party, or misleading others into believing you are authorized by them.
- Copying, modifying, distributing, selling, renting, or sublicensing the app's code, interface, graphics, trademarks, or other protected content without permission.
7. SDKs, Service Changes, and Backup Risks
The app uses third-party SDKs or software libraries for crash diagnostics and interface layout. Please see the Privacy Policy for details about data handling. We may update, suspend, restrict, or remove features, or adjust free quota and Pro benefit boundaries, based on product plans, technical limitations, Apple policies, legal requirements, in-app purchase configuration, or operational needs.
NightWard works to keep local storage, system restrictions, StoreKit entitlement refresh, and iCloud sync stable, but we cannot guarantee that data or entitlement state will never be lost, delayed, conflicted, or corrupted across all devices, system versions, network conditions, iCloud states, App Store states, or Apple service states. Before clearing local data, uninstalling the app, switching Apple IDs, disabling iCloud, or changing devices, you should confirm that important rules and configurations have been handled properly.
8. Disclaimers
To the maximum extent permitted by law, NightWard is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We do not guarantee that the app will always be error-free, uninterrupted, completely secure, or fully meet your needs, and we do not guarantee that Screen Time restrictions will always take effect or cannot be bypassed in every situation.
You are responsible for your decisions and consequences when creating, enabling, disabling, modifying rules, purchasing Pro, restoring purchases, or clearing data in the app. NightWard is not responsible beyond what applicable law requires for impacts caused by Apple system capability changes, third-party app behavior, manual bypassing, device setting changes, App Store payment states, or service states outside our control.
9. Intellectual Property
The NightWard, 晚安守护, and 晚安守護 names, interface design, icons, copy, code, and other content created by us are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. Without our written permission, you may not copy, modify, publish, sell, rent, sublicense, or create derivative works based on the app, except where permitted by law.

10. Terms Updates and Termination
We may update these Terms to reflect changes in features, legal requirements, third-party SDKs, in-app purchase configuration, or App Store requirements. When we update the Terms, we will revise the effective date on this page. Continuing to use the app after an update means you accept the updated Terms. You may stop using the app at any time by clearing local data, managing iCloud data, or deleting the app.
